We had chicken shawarma last night with my homemade tortillas, and I thought Iβd share the recipe in case youβre feeling inspired. It takes a bit of time, but itβs so worth it in the end.

Homemade Tortillas
Ingredients:
β’ 3 cups all-purpose flour
β’ 1/2 cup hot water
β’ 1/2 cup milk (or just use 1 cup hot water if you prefer)
β’ 2 tsp salt
β’ 1/3 cup lard or softened butter
Instructions:
1. Mix together the flour, salt, and lard.
2. Gradually add the hot water and knead until the dough comes together and no longer sticks to the bowl.
3. Let it rest for 20 minutes, then divide into balls β this recipe makes about 10 tortillas. Rest for another 20 minutes.
4. Flatten each dough ball and roll it out, turning 90Β° each time to get a nice round shape.
5. Cook the tortillas on a pan over medium-high heat for about 30 seconds per side.
To reheat, just pop them in the microwave with the lid on for 10β20 seconds β theyβll turn soft and warm again, just like fresh!
