Tether is good for providing the 3rd world more efficient ways to move money that will keep them out of banks & ultimately promote use of Bitcoin infrastructure. It will contribute to lightning liquidity & will make adoption of (swaping to) Bitcoin as a tool for saving a much simpler process. It is incredibly conservatively managed & the revenue is being used to fund development of keet & other p2p infrastructure.
Tether is a way to move people who have no idea that they need Bitcoin closer to Bitcoin without them knowing.

I mean, even if that is the case, what difference does it make? That's just evidence that the efficiency of moving tether WILL likely undermine CBDCs. If even the govt, & the other criminals they spawn, prefer tether to dollars, then preventing the sort of slavery like censorship that a CBDC would enable is well within the realm of possibility.
I'm not telling anyone to use tether, but I can understand that there are a lot of people who don't want or are afraid of Bitcoin who will be better off with tether than a CBDC.
