- alcohol-free beer is your friend
- alcohol-free gin is a scam
- being out with friends becomes a lot more about the conversations you'll have
- everyone turns stupid at around 11pm
- you're always happy about your choices when you wake up the next day
Stopped in September after reading a book “Alcohol Explained” the recommendation for which I actually saw on nostr (think it was @Laser who mentioned it.)
Book is written by a lawyer, not that well written but well argued. He just makes points you know are true, and by the time you’re done, the habit just makes no sense.
Still have a taste of the wine or whatever people are drinking, but not more than half a glass or so.
(Used to drink quite a bit.)
Coming up to a year without booze in April. When I'm out with friends I'm usually done by about 930-10pm. Previously I would have just stayed out drinking until the bar shut

I love Weissbier, I doubt I can find an alcohol free one :(

I think 8 out of 10 people are unable to distinguish whether they are being served an alcohol-free cocktail
i did it for 2 years before...but everything gets better.
I remember when I was little seeing video of Bruce Lee playing ping pong with nunchucks, I saw the Shaolin monks run barefoot on the tips of swords.
Been no booze only herb and great diet for prolly 9 years now. New meaning to firing on all cylinders brother 🙏
What happened back then?! Was it a choice, you were alone (your friends weren’t around), because of work or depression.
