There is nothing that inherently saved you by rolling dice.
You still didn’t verify and the bug could’ve just as easily been in that code.

This is absolutely true.
Yup. You had the opportunity to view the code and reason about it…but you didn’t. This applies to all hardware wallets. Well, all source available wallets
This is why I’m not convinced this is the end all be all, even though the hype around it is out of this world.
Correct. And it’s easy to feel intelligent for not having been hit, but the reality is most of it came down to sheer luck. 99% of people are not auditing code.
Bitcoin price will remain low until stuff like this becomes easy to do correctly, easy to verify.
Price is a reflection of the top 1%.
That’s a good insight and I think I agree, or will agree after i think about it more…marginal price…
The simple fact is that the top 1% of society control by far the most expendable capital, and Bitcoin is heavily concentrated in the hands of big holders. Combine that with an almost mystic belief shared by many in the four year cycle, and it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.
While I 100% agree that the top 1% control the overwhelming majority of capital, that’s a very very different subset than the top 1% of bitcoin holders. Price being as low as it is is good evidence for this split too: the real wealth in the world…the wealth that doesn’t even bother with small markets like gold…hasn’t put any substantial percentage of their capital in bitcoin…if they had, the price would be much much higher.
Top 1% in the world definitely overlaps with the top 1% in Bitcoin. A lot of elites are in for fun. Not everyone goes 100%.
I tested the dice rolls on three different seed generators and they all had the same seeds generated... so that was my verification. Still not good enough?
Dice rolls and pen and paper and an airgapped device to calculate the 24th word is now the only way that I will trust.
Nope, verified.
Good, you’re doing it right then!
That’s pretty good, good job! This no longer applies to you then.
And roll for 24 words, not 12! Should cover for any bias in your dice.
Also use many dice, not just one or two. That should also reduce the risk for bias.
Casino dice? Weeeell, if you have them, but the above advice ought to be enough.
I am not a statistician or a cryptographer, so DYOR. And feel free to correct me if you are. Eager to learn.
