MUST LISTEN Not only commute his sentence. Give Ross the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his contribution to Bitcoin, Satoshi's gift to the world, humanity's life raft. There are many lessons here. Think. Love. Do good. Care. Help. Forgive. Truly inspired. I love this guy, much like Hal Finney. Thanks to @ODELL for posting this. Now off to Waffle House to have some coffee and contemplate things. Then come home and buy some Bitcoin. STAY HUMBLE. STACK SATS. Feeling emotions. Love my Nostr friends. ✌️💜🫂 View quoted note →
I listened to this while watching my kids play so innocently, doimg cartwheels, not realising what a cold world it is out there. It made me cry. Both in honour of the sacrifice that Ross has give. And in gratitude for the things I have, when others are suffering. Free ROSS ULBRICHT View quoted note →

This is powerful. Ross should be freed. His sentence was ridiculously harsh.

The next software engineer that builds a marketplace on Nostr probably better be doing it anonymously.

I listened to the whole call and I watched the whole Silk Road drama play out back in the day. What I saw then was an arrogant young fool actively taunting the authorities and eventually getting caught. His behavior in direct contrast to Satoshi Nakanori who cautioned against stirring the hornet's nest. What I heard in the call is a somewhat chastened older man acknowledging that he may have harmed or set back Bitcoin (I believe he did harm community adoption) and apologizing for the distress he caused his family, which nearly killed his mother. That's good that he's made that partial journey in self knowledge (a 'gift' that prison cam bestow). And I agree that the way he was prosecuted and the very harsh prosecution he received was very problematic (but not at all uncommon in the US 'Justice' system). So I'm happy to see him out of prison but after serving some time within. But he's not a Bitcoin hero, and I heard nothing in the call to indicate he has any special or unique insights into Bitcoin. So I very much caution against the movement for his freedom being transmuted into adopting Ross as some kind of spokesman for Bitcoin.
