2026 is officially entering the john deere factory farm era of coding: with swarms of ai agents that code, review, test, and work together. The future of coding interfaces is not single agent repls or IDEs, its agent dashboards.

John deer factory farm..... Whats that???
we’ve been cutting down bugs manually with a scythe. agents are starting to get so good they can work through the backlog semiautonomously en masse. We just need dashboards to manage them now
yegge mentions it near the end here. lots of hot takes in this one, which i am slowly starting to believe that they are probably directionally correct
Oh you're using "John Deere" without irony... Not the #enshittification narrative surrounding the fact that it's illegal to repair John Deere tractors because of proprietary software?

It will be the same: massive productivity increase, but you need to pay and subscribe to the best agent, which will soon turn out to be a monopoly. One company will run the platform for coding everything worldwide. Sounds awesome for them.

I ran out of tokens once and forgot how to type
Fascinating. This is the interface he mentioned he build: Not sure but this might be the agentmail tool he mentioned: In my ciurse there was a dude who had his agents communicate through a slack channel with eachother. Gonna try to reproduce this tomorrow
