3139 #Garlic cloves are in the ground and covered for the winter. This is 3x what I grew last year and I am up to 22 varieties. It removes about half my main garden space from regular production but the garlic is worth more than the produce I could grow in the same spot. #homesteading #farming #garlicstr #hive #peakd #dailyblog https://peakd.com/hive-114308/@flemingfarm/heavy-rain-man-utd-surprise-garlic-planting-done-3139-cloves-row-covering-sore-sunday?ref=flemingfarm

Check and see if they are multiple cloves or just one. I try to break all cloves apart for planting and I had an entire variety that had sprouted roots. Probably best to plant them a bit deeper so the tip of the shoot is just under soil level, then cover with straw, needles, etc for winter which should keep those shoots okay.
