#AskNostr #Zaps
I've recently started to consider doing some zapvertising to help promote nostr:nprofile1qqsvh2svs20dxgkp25wtvcvmfsytngn2e9llkn54jgz7a3uwaycny3gpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhszxthwden5te0wfjkccte9eekummjwsh8xmmrd9skctcppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp05zfsyv.
Before doing so I'd like to get some perspective on what others think about it.
What are your thoughts, opinions, or ideas about zapvertising?

I love it. nostr:npub1zrclffvv67nlda0ds8kw755lzm8yy9eavxta54qn4g8wegxzzv3q8amvxc has been doing it recently and it doesnβt go unnoticed.
It depends how you do it. A while back, I sent 21 sats every 6 blocks to a few wallets. Most of the people thought it was cool, but some people call it spam.
The other thing is that sometimes giving small gifts hijacks monkey brain instincts and compels them to give you money. I read that in the book Influence.
So I guess I don't know yet.
I think zapvertising is more symbiotic with promotions or events
So, for example, if Bread and Toast was to start releasing a new product or announcing a special event then that would be the best time for zapvertising?
I'm worried about it coming across as spam. That's the main reason I asked this question.
True about exposure, but is a positive or negative on feedback?
Some people do. It's par for the course.
It works, at least to get the word out quickly
It probably depends on the person and the zap. If you drop a 1000 sats, it will resonate more strongly than 10 sats.
In certain contexts, I think it's cool. Example, someone posted a note asking people what they spend Bitcoin sats on. I zapped the note with "Buy my jerky π₯©"
I agree. I think that's a pretty good use of this model.
I also want more people to know about businesses that accept Bitcoin. Maybe I should vibe code a Bitcoin only classified ad that does the opposite.
If someone really loves your beef jerky they zap your store 50 sats.β‘β‘β‘β‘β‘ If your jerky is okay, they zap you 30 satsβ‘β‘β‘.
Maybe we could even filter it using our WOT to avoid sat-spamming. π
Built a little tool to use to help find random users and zapvertise. It sorts out bots, but not perfect.

I love sat spam. Gimme all your neglected small sats if you don't want them!
Iβve always enjoyed the receipt of zaps. Zapvertizing add a layer of information to joy. π€π»
Some people do love sat spam.π€£ I automatically send my wife 21 sats every day. π
Anything organic is good. I think zapping individuals from the Bread and Toast account would be more effective than trying to "spray and pray" a bunch of wallets or something. Like targeted advertisement
