Thank you Matthew, bang on! I needed to hear all of this. Fiat mindset had started to leach into my being. Thank you for helping me catch it before it took hold.
@Matthew Kratter - always for me delivers well grounded clarity. How can any of this be refuted.

His voice has become way too influential.
I simply hope that this whole Strategy thing implodes without doing too much damage
Matthew really dismantled Saylor in this video. I think even @ODELL might enjoy watching it.

This was exactly the kind of Bitcoin false idol dismantling I want to see more often. π€
If Bitcoin succeeds in the long run, STRC will also succeed.
If you donβt believe bitcoin will succeed, then why are you all in?
Yes but we still end up with a single entity controlling almost 1M coins and I don't see too many scenarios where that is desirable or sustainable in the long run, mostly for the reasons highlighted in the video
Looks like these schemes are being flushed out :)
I was sad to see that Jack Mahlers got sucked into this as well.
Precisely.
This is why I think mstr has a better than decent shot.
The risk as I see it, is that the current establishment is against him and isnt above playing super dirty.
Your premise is wrong. There are lots of ways that STRC/MSTR can fail and Bitcoin still succeed. You're under-estimating operational and custodial risks for corporations during the 4th turning
Like what?
Stay in Bitcoin long enough and youβll see all your heroβs die
A fun coincidence. Yesterday I published a note about the same topic:
I am just going to copy and paste it hereβ¦
β- Satoshi Nakamoto publishes the Bitcoin White Paper. Cypherpunks love it. Michael Saylor is not one of them. He says that Bitcoinβs days are numbered and that itβs a matter of time before Bitcoin suffers the same fate as online gambling.
- A few years later Mike changes his mind. Satoshi is a genius and Bitcoin is the best thing ever. Except it should not be used the way Satoshi intended. That would be paranoid crypto anarchy. Instead, Bitcoin should be more like a digital Manhattan and it can be custodied by #Coinbase.
- Mikeβs company #MicroStrategy starts to buy Bitcoin like there is no tomorrow. Mike tells us that Bitcoin is the best, and that there is no second best.
- Mike delivers keynote speeches in every #Bitcoin conference and arranges great parties. If you have a Bitcoin podcast with over 500 subscribers, you are invited. He has a lot of fans in the Bitcoin circles.
- When cypherpunks ask Saylor fans, βhow can you consider Mike a Bitcoiner when Mike does not want Bitcoin to be used as money?β, the fans feel uncomfortable. The parties are great and the interviews get a lot of viewsβ¦ They donβt want to make Mike angry. So, they just call Mike a different kind of Bitcoiner.
- Deep in their hearts they hope that Mike would say something positive about Bitcoin as money. But unfortunately for them, Mike does not give a fuck about them and their feelings. And instead of saying nice things about Bitcoin as money Saylor pivots to being a full-blown shitcoiner.
- Now the #Saylor fans are trying to find right moment to slay their hero. On one hand, staying in the Team Saylor is becoming a credibility issue. And, on the other hand, the interviews are still getting a lot of views and there are probably still some great parties to come. It. Is. So. Difficult.β

"There is no second best"
Except my second best.
You buy my second best, I'll hodl on to the bestπ
I found myself watching yet another video by Matthew Kratter, packed with situations that should concern anyone who supports Bitcoinβsimply by its very nature.
Thatβs why Iβm sharing a simple βguideβ that reinforces the foundations of Bitcoin and the decentralised community.
I hope you find it useful:
