I think governments will all lose importance in the future, it's just inevitable. That's the direction.
UBI and also direct democracy be the only two great innovations in States everywhere. And UBI is fundamental.
I'm a libertarian, nothing would bring more joy than to live in a stateless society nonethless realistically speaking I think UBI is the most important tool that a libertarian, free market advocate has to solve the transitional problem of a very Statist and polarized society, to a freer one.
UBI basically erradicates the only weapon socialist, social democrats have, the directed printer. UBI makes the printer available **equally** to everyone.
It basically has the potential to replace ALL the welfare state.
Imagine a UBI that replaces all welfare states, healthcare, education. Just one single UBI, taken from taxes, and the free market creating everything else.
That for me is probably the best model we can get.

I don't know mate, I find it hard to believe that governments will lose importance when they have everyone on their payroll and people's needs depend on magic government money.
Direct democracy means mob rule aka information wars, but it's still better than what we have now.
I also don't know how "UBI makes the printer available **equally** to everyone. ".
UBI is just play pretend world, where the money is even more fake than we have now, however, the UBI money will be much more programmable.
I find it hard to believe that UBI doesn't progress into CBDC, but your take is more optimistic.
For a libertarian you ignore rule #1 of economics: people chasing limited resources that have alternative uses. UBI violates both axioms, meaning it’s unsustainable over the long run. And by the way the welfare system ignores them too, that’s why it’s on its last legs before hyperinflation wipes everyone’s liabilities.
