it is all about perception. Some people over value how much they "must" get vs how much people truly believe their value. Value in the sense that it is valuable enough for them to donate. Some people hate the idea of self promotion, some embrace it. Most often than not, the former believes that bcoz they do x,y,z it will warranty donation/sats. The latter would hone their craft, test their craft via audience engagement (zap, like, repost, comment). This is what creators would call as testing your target audience. But simply expecting it is not testing your target audience. It's alienating your audience. Build trust, connection and give value without expecting anything in return. You will be surprised how much people will appreciate you in exchange. Expectation can be the root of pain and sufferings. ☺️🫂

This is what’s wrong with this whole “value for value” concept, the creators tend to think there is more value in what they say/do, especially if they receive a large donation from someone, then they expect everyone to find the same value. To use the OP’s example, if I am playing my instrument and someone comes up and drops a $20 in my guitar case, you then start to critique those that donate less because they don’t find the same value. I said it over a year ago and I’ll say it again, having a per post zap option is moronic and can only lead to dishonesty. The only place your wallet should be accessible is from you’re own profile and only the recipient should see how much was sent and by who.
