Some communities are using it. There is already a NIP-29 group with over 100 members on 0xChat, and this is just the beginning. I believe NIP-29 is currently the only alternative to Telegram groups, especially for large group chats.
I have 0xchat already. I'll scan this later when I'm not on a single device which can't turn its camera towards itself lol
