You can edit and delete. Some clients just don't support it.
The issue is that some relays might not delete your events or return older versions of the post.
Buy an Android and use Amethyst. Edits are everywhere :)

Is there a way to see edits, also it seems that editing on Amethyst doesn't show as edited when notes are viewed via other clients.
I've only been using Nostr for a couple of weeks, so I apologise if these questions sound idiotic.
The toggle between the edited version and the original version shows on the left of the post's time. It will only show if there is an edit.
Other clients only show the original content. They have to support edits to display the rest.

At least with deletes, it works pretty seamlessly. Sure, you can't guarantee your note is actually gone, but from my testing and experience, once I delete, I can't find the note on any client.
