I turned a tired old Pixel 3 into a private, offline toolbox. No accounts. No clouds. No snitching. This is exactly what I ran, how I used it, what worked, and what issues I ran into.

I suppose your gpxel3 is flashed with GOS, isnt it?
My daily is, this vault is standard issue android. I wanted agnostic.
bad, you can still use all those apps on gos plus the security features gos provides of encryption and the auto-reboot every 8h features to avoid cellebite cracking
A good vault shouldn't be vulnerable to such attacks.
backup everything on a sdcard and do the gos installation and then transfer all the neede apks and the import the backups for all the apps
don't be lazy
as for bitcoin, you know you can still use ashigaru offline with sentinel on an online phone?
This is great! I have a 4a that I wanted a use case for.
This was proof of concept for the article. I chose agnostic hardware because I want people to test, try, and experement with whatever they have laying around. Later they can scale up or down depending on learnings, their needs, and threat model. All my articles are written to be approachable. I want people to actually do and try things instead of just reading about them.

ZEUS wdyt Barista
with sentinel
Never hurts to have some old pixel burners lying around.
This is great, thanks for sharing. What do you use as a daily driver?
except the battery life 😕
7a with graphene.
Connected with something like silent.link and using tor or vpn and signal?
Cool. I have 2 pixels that are at EOL but could maybe do this with and teach others in my freedom cell
I understand... thank you.
Freedom cell? Say more
Sentinel needs a dojo node, it was a samourai bitcoin node and now it's named ronindojo for ashigaru and that only works for on-chain transactions
Something like that for LN would be interesting, but LN is thought of as a "hot" layer of bitcoin where you'll need to use it more often while being cheap
If you find a work around tag me
but yeah I don't use zeus so I don't know how it works really

My biggest pixel regret is letting the usbC get clogged by pocket lint. many devices could not graphene them.. now I use a silicon dust protector thing, works most excellent. #future pixels will thank me when they become servers.
Why not put LineageOS on them?
That way they will still receive security updates!
It would be cool if you can sign messages with OpenKeychain offline and then share it via QR like how some airgapped hardware wallets share their transactions
