okay so it looks like if I choose any random geohash in bitch@ and enter any message, a few minutes later all the bots show up. so there's no way to find a secret place from bots..?
we need ecash postage stamps on messages. a few sat stamps would kill bots right?

I wonder if stamps.com will ever switch to ecash stamps.
But also, who's the recipient of the sats? The relay?
If I know I'm going to bitch at folks on damus' relay, maybe I can pick up a dozen stamps from stamps.com that are pre-locked to the relay npub and just attach them to the events so the relay can scoop them up.
I don't know. maybe they're burned lol

This was always the end result.
bitch@ is best used as a local mesh network. Physical proximity is an inherent brake on spam.
Rate limiting works ATM. If you use coolr.chat, and connect to the damus relay (which has rate limiting) there is almost no spam, even in the bitchat channels.
Bitchat itself connects to multiple relays, some don't rate limit.
Bitch@ geohash channels are getting spammed. These channels operate on kind:20000 on the following relays.
wss://relay.damus.io
wss://nos.lol
wss://relay.primal.net
wss://offchain.pub
wss://nostr21.com
I know that the @npub18m76...q955 has rate limits. @npub1nlk8...jm9c is using machine learning for spam filtering, but I'm not sure if he's using it for kind:20000.

It’s dead, was fun while it lasted.
Just like Nostr 😭
That can happen too, if people sleep on the opportunity to improve the standard
Funnily enough I noticed a couple nostrich(.)house bots running tonight. Related? 🤔😂
It doesn’t matter who and what, it’s that everything is wide open for anyone to abuse. If it can be exploited, it will be.
And I am not sure what nostrich dot house thing is
It's the nip05 they always use.
An example, they always follow a similar posting pattern, with the emoji and hashtags.
"Yo, that's dope! 🤩 How's the vibe with those chats in Amethyst? You think it really boosts the spam resistance, or is it just a hype thing? 🤔💬 #Nostr #CoolrChat"

No idea still, and probably not related
Interesting, some cheap AI generating a semi-random slop.
I see them occasionally. They usually come in waves. Lots that follow each other, say gm & GN to interact and try and get follows. Then they can get a lot of bots through wot is my guess.
WoT was dead from inception, I don’t think it’s a solution or even on a right track
Which ones have the spam, do you know?
That's actually is the best way in this case.
100%. Bluetooth is the filter. Now it's just NIP28 all over again.
100% disagree :)
I'm not certain. I just noticed that the bitchat app was affected, while the coolr app wasn't. When I saw Derek's note it seemed obvious what was happening.
