Bitch@ geohash channels are getting spammed. These channels operate on kind:20000 on the following relays. wss://relay.damus.io wss://nos.lol wss://relay.primal.net wss://offchain.pub wss://nostr21.com I know that the @Damus has rate limits. @someone is using machine learning for spam filtering, but I'm not sure if he's using it for kind:20000.

Ephemeral accounts and no sign up/post cost. Bad combination. All relays going to have to up their antispam measures.

the relays you listed above are all the spam relays so who cares. I don't use them. nostr21 is a paid relays tho 🤔 I paid 21 sats to join that relay. Maybe it's time they raise their prices to keep spammers away

Eh. It depends. If you use a modern app that supports outbox then I'd say yes. What app are you using?

This must be why cooler.chat has little spam. It's connecting to damus relay only. The rate limiting works.

I think it handled 20000 somewhat ok already but some more tweaks are necessary for chat like apps. Maybe some PoW might be necessary. Flood can be an issue as well as spam, so maybe PoW per message that would drain batteries even faster. The other solution is to let LLM decide, per IP or per geo location.
