Primal ๐Ÿค Android As discussed with @ODELL on @npub1cpem...q62p, we are happy to share the alpha preview release of the Primal Android app. The first thing to note is that this is a very early build, limited to a read-only mode. In other words, you can browse and read Nostr content, but we donโ€™t support posting nor any other actions yet. This is just a preview to give you a taste of whatโ€™s coming to Android. From here we will continue to rapidly develop the Android app in the open, so stay tuned! Our goal is to deliver the most compelling Nostr UX on all platforms and form-factors, and Android is an important piece of the puzzle. You can download the app APK, as well as the source code from the Primal download page:

Congrats! What a great stream and all of the major announcements! ๐Ÿคฉ
Awesome, will start testing! Small request, if you'll keep releasing through the direct APK download channel: Can you make a download page that works with Obtainium? Their docs say: โ€œ"HTML" (Fallback): Any other URL that returns an HTML page with links to APK files (if multiple, the last file alphabetically is picked)โ€. So a simple listing would suffice, I think.
F-droid or self-update version should be an option upon release. Telegram apk from their web page support self-update + avoid gplay restrictions on content
Been testing the Primal Android app for a week now, and so far my experience has been great. It looks really good. For me, it seems to run much smoother than Amethyst โ€” for some reason? On Amethyst, images just appear while scrolling down and it's a bit laggy. Usually, it takes a quick second (and sometimes longer) before the image has finally appeared. On Primal, it seems like images are preloaded before I've even begun scrolling, so I get a much smoother experience. It feels a lot like Instagram, where images are usually already loaded before scrolling. It's super snappy. I like it! View quoted note โ†’
