Hashrate follows price, the price of Monero is much higher than it was a year ago. Also ASIC resistant PoW means incentives are in place to avoid centralizing hashrate among huge regulated ASIC farms as is the case with Bitcoin. The structure is in place to get stronger over time.
This Liquid bug wasn't a hidden inflation bug, it was detectable. It was sloppy code, like the Bitcoin overflow bug. Monero is probably the most reviewed and scrutinized privacy-focused code base on the planet.
