yeah, facebook started dicking around with actually showing what i am subscribed to that was the beginning of the end of me using centralized. first i used steemit for a while, and then nothing until 2022 and for a year on twitter then nostr.
many things about nostr's rockstar culture of slop coders and architecture manglers irritate me but the potential and the pockets of actually alert people and watching their stories unfold, especially with this AI thing, so many people who were a little technical in some way busting out code now, it's quite a pleasure to watch, and be part of it, doing my own bit in it and getting some basic stuff that is necessary to keep semi-normies sticky with us. i know there is loads of them out there. dudes whose dev interest is zero but they make music with computers or write or sell drugs who are just waiting for the right invitation to get on nostr.
i think that's the thing that people confuse about nostr. it's a system for connecting people who have been isolated so they can collaborate. so we are the user base. live with it.

I don't have much of a view or opinion into the dev side of nostr, but it seems aight to me. The vibed stuff will get better in time, and the principles of nostr protocol seem ripe for vibing new stuff (I think, anyway).
For now I'm still pretty happy with who's still around. Learn a lot of cool stuff just scrolling about each day, or at least have some laughs with people I feel like I actually know a bit. Good enough for me
