Nicely done. I have about 7.1kW of capacity at my house with 16 deep cycle marine batteries for when the sun goes down.
What’s the life of those batteries in years, or discharge cycles?
Depends on several factors including how often and completely you discharge them… but usually around 10 years.
In super optimal circumstances they can last 15-24 years depending on the model. I use rolls battery from Canada.
Are you fully off grid?
That house is, yes. With a backup generator in the event the batteries discharge too much in the night. It’s several miles away from the nearest paved road.

How did you figure out how to do this? I'd like to set up solar at my home for off grid mining but don't know where to start.
Actually no. The place was built in 1999. I’m the third owner. It needed a bit of work and that took a minute but we got the major stuff fixed last month.

Well started with a one 100 watt panel a charge controller 12 volt 20 ah battery for fun with the kids to charge there usb devices grew from there due to the fact it works great but for such a project like this house to run on solar it’s a pretty penny or shall I say a “shiny sat” 😆

GOALS!!!! Thx slowly getting there only got me 2500 watt system so far got tired of saying one day I’ll do it learning as I go pure hobby fun for me I even built my own battery box/generators fun stuff 💜🫂🤣
Nice setup, what gear you running here? I have onky ever built a smaller 400w system with mppt for my rv. This looks beefy!
2000 watt solar array hooked up in series of four for a 48 volt system I wanted to go 24 volts but bought a 48 volt inverter by accident o well guess I’ll be buildings 48 volt system
