On a Mac I still can’t select multiple files if in thumbnail view (photographer). It’s little quirks like this that drive me crazy with Mac.

Pretty sure you can hold the shift key down and select multiple
Also the control key and a click will be like a right click and give you a drop down options menu

You cant do it in thumbnail view. Its bizarre.
