I really hate flying. Not the flying part per se, but just the logistics to the airport, time in the airport, time in the plane, logistics to the hotel, etc. I feel less healthy by the time I arrive.
Major props to people who fly to Madeira all the way from like Australia and New Zealand.

Me too! 🤦🏾♀️🫠🫂
I like trains. Trains will make a comeback, at least for intracontinental travel.
yes it sucks
Ever since 9/11 I dislike flying because of all the “security“ measures. It was so nice going straight to the gate and boarding. Now, I feel I’m treated like a criminal.
Since joining nostr & learning about bitcoin, i’ve seen people here travel sometimes weekly for bitcoin conventions. I can’t imagine how much work they put in, so much respect.Big respect for Will & Vanessa of damus for traveling constantly, with a kid, to spread the word of nostr.
I agree, it's somehow very energy-draining. I'd rather spent 8h in a train than going on a 3h flight (which takes in the end also like 6-7h given all the logistics you mentioned anyway)
I fly a decent amount throughout the year and I am honestly amazed how it feels like the experince keeps degrading. Even in the last five years it noticeable. Fiat standard pay the same and get less. Flying part is a marvel to me but its amazing how we solved that hard problem but can't make the experience around it any better........
me too!
Transactions (people) and their data carrier size (luggage) getting submitted into blocks (planes) to see which ones get transmitted across the globe
You mean there isn't a pill or jab for that! lol
I have read that our aura is significantly larger than our bodies.. if a part of our aura is outside of a plane and part of it is in, it can tax the energy system. I am sure it’s all bullshit but it’s a fun thing to think about.
A lot of people who wear a Rudraksha Mala claim that travel stopped being taxing on their system because of its protective properties on their system. Who knows 🤷🏼♂️
The worse aspect is how we're very vulnerable to the airport police, in some countries they may confiscate your devices or tax you if traveling with more than 2 phones.
Margins are tight for airlines, it's not an easy business
Sometimes the cure for jet lag is more jet lag
We are very grateful you made the trip to join us at Bitcoin Atlantis. It was an amazing weekend made complete with your insights, wisdom and sharing. Muito Obrigado,
Flying in the 80s/90s was a privilege akin to1st class or private charter today.
Looking forward for John Galt Line to make a comeback.

Don't you feel safer, citizen?

Broken travel. Flying sucks
It’s partially because you were microwaved in a metal tube. Your mitochondria are straight up not having a good time.
Fly more and your body/mind will get used to it. Use the time waiting at gates to observe people. Talk to strangers, meet new people. Enjoy the miracle of arriving on the other side of the world while seeing the clouds and islands from above.
Turn it into a game and the stress will disappear.
I prefer sailing over the Atlantic to flying over it (no jet lag), but humans flying is a miracle as big as Bitcoin.
Totally agree!

Basically anywhere from Australia NZ is an expensive mess with 10s of hours and layovers so most of us are just ready to cop it no matter where we’re going.
I spent the first twelve years of my career traveling like a maniac. Supporting sales for high-tech scientific instrumentation. Easily >50% on the road, internationally, away from friends and family. Took a big toll on my health. A few years ago I ripped off the bandaid and changed careers to something with almost no travel. I thought I'd eventually miss the travel just a little bit after some time away. Nope. Four years in, I still get palpitations at the thought of going to the airport. I guess it's something you just condition yourself to doing when you're in the thick of it, like an addict. Hard to break free.
Not to mention all the radiation you’re getting, boring tops of clouds, and the seatbelts…
Guilty until proven innocent. It’s for freedom, democracy and your own safety, don’t you know?
Pro tip: Lampoon Bitcoiners from the comfort of your home.
I can enjoy flying or commuting when listening to a great audiobook.
I'd recommend Broken Money, Lyn 😃
It’s better than the alternative though😜
Yep .. air travel is basically queuing on steroids .. standing to get through ‘security’ .. to get onboard .. sitting in the plane waiting to get delivered .. queuing for luggage .. i hear ya 🤝
I feel the same. Although flying seems faster (depending on the distance), it definitely sucks and feels actually slower. Train is more comfortable.
Same. The older I get the less I like being too long on a plane.
💜 thanks Roya! It’s tiring but so worthwhile. Makes it easier when we have so many wonderful ppl we’ve met like yourself 😍 who are helping to spread the word as well
Silver lining: its a good opportunity to get some reading done. I finished Broken Money waiting in line at customs.
I fly almost every week. I feel ya!
I feel the same! There’s a lot of meta stuff around flying via a plane.
