My first year in China I struggled real hard with VPNs. I spent so much money on useless apps. Any social network worked like shit, it made me real angry. The second year I did manage to get by, but not without having some crazy-ass Chinese bots or even real people harassing me any time I said something they didnโt like ๐ wear this notification as a medal of honor ๐

Centralized technology stacks are the problem. Building on a broken foundation isn't going to address the root problem. They can always just change the software to ban or break your app store.
They don't want their apps banned on our soil and we are supposed to get banned our products there. This is one of the reason I am on Nostr, Grillapp, Steem and Hive. They have power on every mainstream social network and we can't even say a thing against them.
