German chancellor stating that "people shouldn't rely on their state-side retirement plan any more" means that the last three generations paid into something they'll never receive. It's called "Generationsvertrag" in Germany and for generations people were told that the current generations are basically paying the retirement of the previous generations.
Since it turned out that the fond is empty the government is not slowly trying to pitch the idea that people should pay money into a private retirement plan ON TOP of the mandatory money taken out of their wage.
In other words, if you're in your 30's now, stack harder. You'll need it.

The scam hits hard, they doubling down.. They want more
and nobody seems to care or grasp how bad this is. Else they'd be taking to the streets about these news.
It's not as if Social Security or U.S. state pentions are in much better shape. I hope more leaders become more candid with these facts.
Not sure why broke 22 year olds on minimum wage are paying pensions of Boomers tbh.
Thatβs how ponziβs work
Same thing here in Spain πͺπΈπ
that's probably why it's a broken system. min-jobs aren't enough to fund anything really.
The boomers outsourced all production to China because they got rich from their fiat housing ponzi scheme.
Just about sums up the last 50 years. π―
