Upgraded Bitcoin mining clothes dryer has been a huge improvement over the original setup. Now that I can attenuate the power consumption/hashrate with 3rd party firmware, I can essentially run the dryer on different presets based on what I'm drying. Also, with lower fan speeds, the positive pressure in the drum is reduced which means less lint and heat escaping into the room. #permaculture #permies #homesteading #meshtadel #bitcoin #mining #bitcoinmining #homemining #plebminer

Breaking in a new miner at the homestead image Making more hashes than ever with solar power thanks to this new S19kpro (Urlacher by Altair Tech). When I first tried firing it up on the solar power system, the breaker was tripping immediately. After some trouble shooting, I solved the problem by swapping out the power supply. image I won this miner at auction during the lake satoshi retreat. My goal was to sell enough homestead products to pay for the miner but I only got halfway there after selling everything I had with me. All sats paid for the miner were donated to the Hope House in El Salvador. The miner was generously donated by both Altair Tech and Chet (the most die hard supporter of lake satoshi you can find). Not only did I get a new miner for the homestead but I was also able to negotiate a better power rate recently too. Thanks to some fuzzy pleb miner math, I am happy to hash during the day when the sun is shining then move the miners over to grid power and hash from 9pm to 7am when the power costs are lowest. image I also made some upgrades to my clothes dryer as well. Adding a more efficient Asic, quieter fans, and a sound deadening enclosure. Now the dryer itself is louder than the miner during operation. Additionally thanks to the new power rate, I can let the miner run in off peak hours continuously wether drying laundry or not! Staying ahead of the halving, difficulty adjustment, and fading sideways price action has made it difficult to keep the sats flowing at the homestead with mining. So far we are just barely able to stay ahead of the curve and continue to support the network, do some productive work with the heat and get some sats out of the deal too. The sats might cost more than the current spot price of Bitcoin but for now I value the participation in Bitcoin more than the purchasing power. #permaculture #permies #homesteading #meshtadel #bitcoin #mining #bitcoinmining #homemining #plebminer #offgridmining View quoted note โ†’

**East Friesian Dairy lambs born earlier than expected on the homestead!** image A couple of dairy sheep have given birth to lambs over the past couple days when they were expected to have them in early May. Our East Friesian dairy ram got in with the ewes over the summer, and we thought we removed him before he was able to breed any. It turns out he was able to get the job done very quickly and clearly showing a preference for the Easter Friesian dairy ewes. image It was almost 24 hours after the first ewe had given birth before we noticed. She had given birth to twins but we found one dead already. Her lamb was struggling so we gave it some electrolytes and made a little coat for it after letting it warm up near the bitcoin mining clothes dryer for a few hours. It's doing well now, but we have them both in a stall close to the house to keep an eye on them for now. image The second ewe gave birth a day later to a single lamb. It was also struggling with the cold and having trouble nursing. We took it in, warmed it up with the miner, made a coat for it and gave it some colostrum (frozen from last spring). We put them both in a second stall, trimmed the wool around the ewe's utter, and setup some heat lamps for the lambs. image So far, they are all doing well. We are thinking there might be one more ewe due to lamb early so we are still keeping a close eye on the flock. Even though we don't have lushious pasture to feed the ewes, we are still going to start getting sheep's milk a few months earlier than expected and with each ewe only raising one lamb there should be plenty extra milk for us to have some. #permaculture #permies #homesteading #meshtadel #dairysheep #lamb #rawmilk #theproblemisthesolution

You set a great example of the gentleman farmer. I believe many disaffected dissident right young men are going to be attracted to this kind of lifestyle. They need leaders and mentors.
Here is a compilation of all my favorite mining notes from the last year. I guess use Bitcoin miners in almost every way I can think of. Cooking hash-vide style rabbit ramen with Bitcoin mining hot water heater The second meal cooked in the Bitcoin mining hot water heater is rabbit ramen soup. Rabbit grown and harvested right here at the homestead, along with these other ingredients from the homestead rabbit stock, garlic, and finally golden oyster mushrooms dehydrated with a Bitcoin miner. Soy sauce, rice vinegar, lemon, sesame oil, Japanese seven spice, salt, pepper, butter. All ingredients went into a silicone bag and submerged in the hot canola oil tank of the bitcoin mining hot water heater for 3 days. Hard to beat mining Bitcoin, heating water, and cooking food all at the same time. I can get the water up to 150f out of the tap with only 1500w of power consumption for the total system, miner, pumps, and all! Another super cool aspect of this mining setup is that it runs on 110v power instead of 220v. Not having access to a 220v circuit is often a limiting factor for pleb miners, especially when these sorts of applications don't always require so much power. By modifying the apw12 PSU and making a custom power cord, now I can plug the miner into an existing 110v circuit. It cost less than $20 to do the modification on the PSU plus using a modified apw12 vs a Loki + apw3++ allows for voltage attenuation and higher total power output. #permaculture #permies #homesteading #meshtadel #bitcoin #bitcoinmining #plebminer #homeminer #sousvide #rabbit #ramen #foodstr #stackingfunctions #doublespendenergy View quoted note โ†’
