Your kids getting married shouldn't be a crowing achievement for parents either. Their happiness and a healthy relationship with God should be. If that's what they get from marriage great! But for many it's not the case. I'm with @HODL on this one Jimmy.

There was no ‘should’ mentioned. Somethings just are sometimes. If my kids choose to marry, I will feel it as a crowning achievement- they are healed and hopeful. If they choose not to marry, my crowning parental achievement will lie elsewhere. Life is more complex and beautiful than ‘shoulds’ and ‘shouldn’ts’
