One of the motivations for Hal to hide behind the Satoshi mask was the legal trouble they got into with PGP. With that experience, the fact that he and Phil Zimmerman went through so much trouble and that for something that didn’t even undermine the Goliath of the central banking, Hal knew better to put his real identity on the line. I’ve read the Satoshi-Hal emails, but I’m not a computer scientist. Is there anything in that small PDF that Hal is indeed a different person from Satoshi? I don’t think so, but am open to being proven wrong and learn something new. Unless I’m presented with some objective proof that Hal is a different person from Satoshi, I am not prepared to think otherwise.
