🥩 Any recommendations on getting steak for a cheaper price? 🥩
It doesn't have to be a high-end cut. I just crave steak and it doesn't fit in our budget. I can usually swing Aldi steaks but I figured there was a better option out there.

The beef initiative may help in sourcing bulk that could help $/lb.

You should be buying direct from a farmer.
But in bulk! When I buy a 1/4 cow, the average price comes out to about $7/lb and there’s usually at least 5, sometimes 10 lbs of steak in there!
If you’re going to the grocery store, sirloin is my favorite cut. It’s lean and pretty tender, and usually the cheapest cut. I make it more tender by doing a reverse sear.
Buy a whole cut of meat and cut it into steaks yourself.
If you’re up for a bit of work and have the freezer space, you can save by buying a “whole subprimal cut” and cutting it into steaks yourself at home. Usually available by request at butcher shops or sometimes at semi-bulk places like Costco. Lots of YouTube videos on how to cut them up.
