Very cool 👀 How does this work? Does this mean he's on nostr? Do lightning tips go to him? I'm a bit confused lol. But still cool.
It's similar but Wavlake only shows music hosted with them where LNBeats pulls in all the music thats added to the podcastindex. Same way Fountain shows V4V music but LNBeats is a web app that only does V4V music and V4V music shows.

He is not on nostr from what I understand. The link we are looking at is LNBeats.com, it is an open source music player pulling rss feeds (in this case instead of podcasts it’s music) and allowing you to listen to them. You can send him a “boostagram” (podcasting 2.0’s terminology for a zap) that will go to his Alby wallet. At the current point, I think the only wallet you can currently bring to boost with is an Alby wallet (you are able to run Alby locally on a node), but I could be wrong.

Vance’s music has been added to an rss feed, and that file along with the tracks were uploaded to a self hosted website. From there, all it takes is to add the link url to that music rss feed to the podcast index. It shows up in any app using the Index to pull its podcasts and music from.

No prob. You can see more music like this by hitting the “demu” button beside the search bar on LNBeats.
Just one more question if I may lol, sorry if this is tedious and perhaps you don't have the answer. Do zaps on lnbeats show their origin? Ie if an artist was on lnbeats and got quite a following there, do zaps and plays tell the artist the origin, like with some sort of analytics tool? 🤔

Yes there are boostagram readers, my favorite is Helipad which only runs on a Lightning node. It shows me names, amounts, messages, what app the boost came from, you can customize sound effects for different amounts, etc. it’s super robust. In addition, Alby has (or had haven’t looked in a minute) a service can Saturn.dev that does pretty much the same things without the customizable sound effects.
Thanks! Appreciate it. I do have some other annoying questions lol. Not even sure if you made lnbeats. But yeah I was wondering what is showing there is not uploaded directly, it's being curated(?) (If I'm reading this right, then this would be the major difference with wavlake, maybe). How would someone who isn't on here, but wanted to be listed on lnbeats go about that? And where is the source of the curation? Ie is there a way of seeing the wider pool? So many annoying questions lol
I just noticed the wallet connect thing at the bottom of the page now. I would assume this is probably how you can appear on lnbeats. I was thinking I would try giving recommending lnbeats, but I think Alby is kinda tricky to use for someone coming from zero knowledge of lightning (I literally wouldn't know how to use the new Alby either tbf).

@StevenB is the creator. The only curation that is happening is LNBeats is built to receive RSS feeds from the podcast index that are listed as music type feeds. Said music feeds are pulled from this open source repository: To appear in LNBeats you need only get a rss feed hosted somewhere and then submit it to the index. LNBeats does offer some curation, but only in the sense of a filter. It’s the only podcast/music app that shows you where the music is hosted and it will surface the #demu tracks easily. Here’s a tutorial I made that shows how to build and host a feed:
Just had a quick scan through. But looks useful. I fear I wouldn't be able to do most of this myself lol, but then again I dkt even know how to use Alby hub ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@ChadF and 33 others and @npub1gfh3...alqc might be able to provide better insight on how to set up Alby hub. You can use another Lightning wallet in your rss feed to receive boosts like a fountain wallet too. The best advice I can offer is to touch base in our chat room, there’s loads of well versed people who can answer questions for you.
