Feel moderation should happen at the relay level rather than at the message level. Whitelist only relay (paid, invite, apply, etc) and if you are a noted bad actor - relay operator (with ideological alignment to the community) kicks you off.
> Feel moderation should happen at the relay level rather than at the message level You are 100% correct. Building communities on top of the protocol is too complicated. Communities should be based on relays, like how nostr was supposed to work all along. Me and @hzrd149 are building this right now.
The problem is that how can you ever get discovered if your relay or nip is being on a shared distributed block list. Nostr is still very centralized. There are a few big relays that everyone needs. Nostr will be just like every competing product, users will cling to a few big relays and the little relays will get the shaft.
> Nostr is still very centralized. There are a few big relays that everyone needs. Agree, and one of the reasons for making communities based on relays is to massively increase the total number of relays. Instead of 10,000 communities using 10 relays, there should be 10,000 communities using at least 10,000 relays. I think non-community-specific relays will still be useful to bootstrap the discovery of other relays.
Yup. That seems to be the best for now.....Nostr really needs to improve their relays....they won't scale
