It stops Ordinals in its current form and destroys their shelling point. The will have to rebuild everything from scratch. And when Knots is the dominant client after BIP110, our *working* new filters will take care of their new scheme a lot faster than any consensus change.

They don't have to build everything from scratch. They need to update inscription software, parsers and indexers. AI can update the code in a minute. It's a mild nuisance for them that does nothing to stop them.
New filters won't do anything when the 5 mining pools can just continue to not use the filters in their custom version of bitcoin software.
