I asked if anyone was doing something similar for Brazil, a country where awareness might really move the needle at this particular moment in time (h/t @Roy for the mind seed). By Saturday, @Geyser had launched a project and worked out the logistics with @ivy galindo. As of 30 mins ago, we crossed the finish line thanks to a generous contribution from @moneyball. This is a BFD and shows the power of open networks for communication, value, and payments working symbiotically together. We literally willed an idea into existence in ~ 3 days (and I'm guessing we'll need a few more to get the art/message settled and board up). Social media was powerful in the past, but ultimately very limited. It's one thing to rally and organize the troops. It's something else entirely to transmute that potential energy into kinetic energy via the coalescence of "real world" value. The digital world is now reshaping the physical and this is just the beginning. Woohoo, we all did it 🎉 While living on the other side of the world, in The Netherlands, I am glad being one of the ostriches acting like ants. Just a small sats contribution and the dall-e prompter of the ostrich with the torch. It's so beautiful seeing over hundred people doing something together in a decentralized way having such a big impact. Can't wait to see PoW of the billboard by the Brazilians.
