Had nearly 10TB of important backups sitting on Amazon Drive when they killed it in 2023 and migrated everyone to Amazon Photos. Browser downloads are capped at 5GB or 1,000 files at a time. Amazon Photos has no Linux app. And they want $600/year to keep it there—back when I started, Amazon Drive had an unlimited era. Glad they kept my files on the server this long after the shutdown—but it was time to get them out. Fired up Claude Code in my terminal, had it build a Python script with a terminal file explorer, plugged in my session cookies, and I'm pulling everything down right now—no official app needed. There's always a way. #IKITAO
