Let’s set this straight: if we do not talk about #nostr on other social platforms (yes, Twitter or x or whatever it’s called, IG, tiktok, snap, fb, etc) then we will not maximize the potential for nostr to grow the way we envision it to grow. I know a lot of people are fine with the current vibe here - but nostr can help so many people in the world thrive in a broader digital economy. Why WOULDN’T we want to include them? Nostr is for everyone, so let’s be welcoming and inclusive to everyone even if they aren’t hardcore idealists. Most people are not like that. End of rant. #grownostr

Yes! Well said! NOSTR is an incredibly welcoming place! Let's keep that vibe going strong! NOSTR is whatever you imagine it to be, so there is no "type" of user. Anyone can find value in NOSTR and if they can't now, someone will build what they need! NOSTR will win because of the friendly community that is so embracing of newcomers! Tell all your friends on all the other networks to come try the fun friendly place! If they can easily find things of interest (which is easier and easier every day) NOSTR will hit that critical mass and flourish! It is early days, but with each release the entire network becomes more interesting,
The magic behind nostr are the relays private/public (twitter.relay, tiktok.relay, ig.relay, snap.relay, fb.relay). Plenty of room for everyone including the Musks and Zuzks who want too micro manage and charge for access to their relay.
Pretty sure I'm shadow banned on Twitter now for bringing up nostr and trying to bring awareness of this future on that bird app. My engagement since I started brining up nostr and damus has been literally dead. Maybe it's ironic timing but doubtful.

Yep, that's a really slimy thing to do. And it should be against the law. Congress needs to get on that and so much more..👍🙂

I don't think it's an issue of moderation policies. I think it's an issue of censorship of free speech. I think shadow banning is a very fraudulent and illegal way of conducting business. It should be banned, hard and fast. Therefore I think it's primarily a responsibility of congress and the courts to get it done. And to protect the publics civil rights..🤔
A right to free speech on someone else’s property? I doubt there’s a case that Twitter is defrauding users, since they reserve the right to limit the reach of tweets in their terms of service. But if they are violating a contract, the proper remedy is a lawsuit, not for Congress to pass a law to restrict their moderation policies.

Congress has broad powers and responsibility to regulate business practices that endangered the public or violate their rights. You and I will never agree. You believe in Small government, which is a code word for no government. I believe in Good government which is a code word for government as a public service..🙂
