This is concerning
Services like @Tuta encrypt the subject line aswell as the message. Useful alternative.
proton can’t read or sell your emails since they’re encrypted, but if a swiss court orders it they’ll comply. they might shut down an account or hand over metadata, but not the emails themselves. and no, they’re not going to court to fight for you over a $10/month subscription.
Can the journalist just make a new one?

Some companies are better than others but in the end, all companies are centralized and can take action when they want to.
Wtf? I mean, hosting encrypted email is probably difficult. I hope someone proofs me wrong.
Proyon knew who they were because they probably didn't pay with bitcoin, but with credit card. Doesn't justify it though.
