Freedom of speech is natural law, but anything you say can and will be used against you. Governments of the world seems to be on the side of using anything you say against you. That's why anonymous and pseudonymous speech is important. It's part of the American tradition because there has always been leaders with totalitarian tendencies who wish to use your speech against you. I see nostr as a place for speech that is outside of the government surveillance system. We're like the Anti-Federalist Papers online.
