here is your explanation for why so many people hate reading text like mine that requires vocabulary, grammar, and a functioning imagination. thus, any negative opinion i get, is always going to be tempered with the knowledge that even as i completed highschool in 1993, the literacy rates were only about 60% in australia at the time

based on the gulf between my intelligence test results, i am top percentile and my nearest competitors at the end of primary school were top 20%. that's a very broad gulf. and further, that was only about 10% of that class's population. not only literacy, in the sense of literary, but i did all arts in junior high and all advanced science and mathematics subjects in senior, so my literacy is not just the metric they refer to, it's far deeper than that.
i have a new friend i found through a chance encounter with his friend. i correctly identified an ally and his friend is in the same category as me, except from a much more stable background. it is going to be interesting to see what the interactions produce. i have some ideas about forging a path to not just surviving the magnetic reversal with stone, or even steam age technology, but something more, science that has been systematically suppressed, that two - or more - minds with this capacity will map out a path that not just maintains current levels of technology but actually goes further. it's on the horizon.

I went to public school, but the only useful things I learned from basic school was because my mom helped me learning at home. Afterwards I would learn on my own. Public school in Brazil is a chaotic place where it's impossible to learn.

It seems the average private school is meh, but the expensives ones seem really good. These are the ones that prepare kids for olympiads, for studying in top universities in Brazil and abroad, etc. There's nothing like that in public schools, at least 99.9% of them.
