I started that one a couple years ago but got distracted, unfortunately. Heard many good things, and the first quarter or so was good lol

It's a classic, and hugely foundational work. I read it in my youth but not recently... Gibson resists the temptation of a lot of science fiction to do "world building"... You don't get some big exposition dump about how and why the world is the way it is, you just see the characters' lived experience of it.

I had the same thing happen with Starship Troopers. Couldn't keep my interest and my backlog was building up, so I moved onto this.

I'm about 100 pages in now and I noticed the same thing. I like that. Feels more real.
