I don’t think you could run a #Bitcoin Node on a new laptop nowadays let alone an old one, could you? Big SSD upgrade aside because that was never mentioned by Bitcoiners saying you could spin it up on an old laptop.
Because of the RAM requirement you mean? I guess the new laptop would have to be always online (and as fast as my mini pc running it). So not really the use case of the laptop I agree
Well no, I specifically meant because of the disk; you need 1TB to run a node now, who has “an old laptop” with 1TB in it? 1TB is the default option if you buy a MacBook Pro today; nobody with a 5 year old laptop lying around has 1TB in it. The RAM is another problem altogether. RaspberryPi nodes are basically dead
Yes. This is true. You need a performing machine by today’s standards. And even better if you want it to last a few years. My “premium pi” from start9 lasted 3 years lol. Well below the estimates back then 😂
