They will take notice. They will then try to ignore you as much as possible. I doubt they will change course

Until you have to physically defend yourself.
They will be forced to change course if enough of us do it. Look at this way, suppose you stopped shopping at Walmart and stopped investing in it via the stock market; Walmart being a business will be forced to cater to you or go bankrupt. Overly simplified example, definitely, but that to me is more effective because even the most stone hearted oligarchs have to please their customers if their businesses are to survive.
