Hi Danny! Nice to have you here. I remember the confusion when I joined up. It will all come together, glad you're curious. As far as signing up for Wavlake, I think the FAQ would be a great place to start. Check out the I’m an artist. How do I get started? section: https://wavlake.notion.site/Wavlake-Guide-e560557ae4ba4e06ac20c06fb33556a3. Also Fountain has a getting started guide as well: https://support.fountain.fm/article/110-how-do-i-add-my-music-to-fountain. These aren't the only places to host your music either, there's also LNBeats: https://lnbeats.com/. With regards to your LIghtning Wallet, there are two ways: 1) Non-Custodial meaning you have some hardware where you host your Lightning services or 2) Custodial - where someone else hosts your Lightning services. Alby is Non-custodial, meaning if you have an old PC or a server you can install the Lightning services, open your own channel and run things yourself. They also have an Alby Cloud version, which is still non-custodial, but they take care of all the heavy lifting, you still have to fund your channel and it has a small fee taken out of your wallet for the services each month This is the end goal, eventually. But for now, a great place to start is as what Patrick said below. Choose a Custodial wallet like Minibits, CoinOS or Lifpay. You can fund your Lightning wallet by offering goods or services or using exchanges (River, CashApp, Strike just to name a few). But you'll definitely want to continue your research. There are a ton of great resources out there, but it's worth the effort. nostr:nprofile1qyvhwue69uhkyat8d4skutndva6hjtnwv46r5dpcxsuqz9nhwden5te0vfjhgcfwdehhxarjd9kzucmpd5q3kamnwvaz7tmxv4jkguewdehhxarj9e3xzmny9a6x7mneqyvhwumn8ghj7urjv4kkjatd9ec8y6tdv9kzumn9wshszynhwden5te0wp6hyurvv4cxzeewv4esz9rhwden5te0wfjkccte9ejxzmt4wvhxjmcpzemhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuurjd9kkzmpwdejhgqghwaehxw309aex2mrp09ejuerfvank7mewvdhk6qpqrxysxnjkhrmqd3ey73dp9n5y5yvyzcs64acc9g0k2epcpwwyya4s0u0ajg offers really great tutorials to get you started on your way to self-sovereignty!

LNBeats is only a music player, and my personal favorite for being the only podcasting 2.0 app to easily surface music hosted outside wavlake. Fountain, LNBeats, Podverse all pull their music (in this case music published to an RSS feed) from https://podcastindex.org/ In addition, The Podcast Index is also not a hosting company. They are an open source repository of sorts for RSS feeds coming in from every where. The creator of LNbeats made http://musicsideproject.com/ that you can use as a tool for self hosting all your music. You’d use the site to build an rss feed, upload it to your website along with your tracks, then submit the new music url to the Podcast Index. I’ve seen people doing really cool stuff with their music going about it in this fashion. You can use new features like adding subtitles as lyrics that show up in some apps, chapters to make “still music videos”, and add any many people that you’d want to the wallet splits.
