GFY my friend, I franly think that social as now, even nostr-as-twitter-replacement is bad for most people, or at least for me. I'm here experimenting and living the social aspect of nostr day-to-day while I'm studying the tech and undertanding what happening here. I think I will quit from this usage of nostr in next weeks, but I found here a real good set of tech that is just too good. @npub10r8x...t2p8 will still be my main source of apps because is better than alternatives and can only become better; when @npub1h0uj...rwx8 will be mature I think will be the optimal way to do dms cause the clever design choices, better than anything else; I'm super bullish on doing coinjoin using nostr keys for the possibility of integrations that offer, like the @npub1v6qj...nzyr electrum add-on or wasabi coinjoin implementation; @calvadev⚡️ shopstr integrates the best technologies to create one, if not the most, important thing for free society: finally good, private, scalable, uncensorable FREE markets. There are a lot of other projects that I'm too dumb to even understand. Hangout/shitposting with a twitter-like client is just the welcoming-hub. As I lived well without a twitter account before, I will live well without coming here everyday loosing too much time on thi social network. But I will use nostr.

nostr is like a weed, it will persist because of the fact that no other protocol has enabled real decentralized social networking, and the stubborn hard core who will be nostr or death are not going anywhere else, most of us, the elders, perhaps you might call us, who have been in internet social networks since the 90s, will all say the same thing: every social network gets captured, nostr lacks the levers that let those all get captured sure, maybe some cluster of relays and clients will get captured, but there will always be the dirty wild proles outside the gates of the walled gardens, and we will run our own relays and build our own clients, with our own time and effort and mainly for ourselves and to enable connecting to other stubborn bitches like ourselves it is true that social networks can be unhealthy addictions but when the control levers are missing, the harm is less, and the benefits greater because they are not being squashed to trade off for the interests of those who want to shape opinions and feed off advertising budgets

I agree totally, I just feel bad having the constant stimulus (even if very positve and full of new info) of a social network in my daily routine. It start hook me and I start to put only half of myself in my present reality for most of the day. I will more likely dedicate little timeframes to digital realms once in a week as a sporadic activity. But what I will hopefully do are offline things with devices off, I dont see nothing that merit my "online time" more than nostr and what gravitate around it.

yeah, being stuck in a desert of suburbia surrounded by vinyards and small market gardens is so frustrating i want to make my garden and raise my sheep and my chickens lol dammit that's part of the reason why social media is such a plague these days, they have taken away these things from most people with their constant manipulation of money and markets just keep that in mind... use the networks to make those connections to the earth, unfortunately it really does mean a need to relocate to where the land is cheap and the corruption with the cartel is lesser
