Those curly ass feathers have me leaning rooster... But I've been wrong before.
Was supposed to be for sure a hen from a sexed batch. If she's a he I'm not supposed to keep it.
I've ended up with many roosters from "sexed" chicks. Again, I've been wrong before, but those feathers... I've also had hens that crow like a rooster. So ๐Ÿคท
It's a real knife fight out there. Just hope it's not a mean rooster. And if it is don't let it win and walk away. You need to assert dominance. They'll spur the fuck out of your ankles until you do.
Mean roosters scare the crappa out of me!! ๐Ÿ˜… I had one that was at my workplace, I was helping this lady walk and the rooster came running at us from behind, jumped up at my legs, before I could say "waaahhh!?" The lady was in my arms and I was swinging the egg basket at the rooster while getting the heck outta dodge! ๐Ÿคฃ
I looked up pictures of jersey giant hens and roosters and my money is on rooster. The shape of its body, and the way those tail feathers are beginning to curl. You can totally do the dominance assertion though! I've done that with my own rooster and he was a good one. I picked him up and walked around with him facing backwards is a way I was told to do that. Seemed to work as he never tried to attack me.
I'm not worried about aggression. I can't have a rooster in city limits. ๐Ÿ˜ซ
Tie bricks around its legs and throw it in the lake, if it drowns it's a hen if it flys off on its broomstick it....oh wait
Awww danggit!! That's so dumb. That's the kind of thing your neighbors would have to complain about though right?-- for you to get a fine? You could always see if folks would mind? Or, name him dinner ๐Ÿ˜
I know for a fact that most of my neighbors wouldn't care but there is one that has called the police on them for pooping in her yard. She claimed they shit all over her backyard but they've never been in her backyard. She also said her grandchildren couldn't play in her yard because of it. We've been here 11.5 years and I have never once seen a child at that house.
