I am not sure how adopting freedom tech can help LA residents who are suffering from riots. Understanding why both Newsom and Trump ar bad for them can help them vote better next time

Exactly. A gun can be used to gain freedom and can be used by dictators to take freedom away. The question is the philosophy which guides the person.
What we see here is a shift in philosophy. From thinking that only government has a right to use violence to the realization that every man has a right to property and a right to defend his property.
