if Anne Helen Petersen emailed me and said: "hey gil, writing a profile on jack. wondering your take cos you watched a couple youtube video speeches that i dont have time to watch as a professional journalist and writer and mom with a patreon." id be like: "hey anne, you really mismanaged the end of celebrity gossip academic style but then, i suppose most endings are mismanaged except for starz's blacksails. anyway, i cant help you on this cos im compromised. my take is just never gonna be clear. if you would like me to elaborate on that: i currently believe he may be trapped in a clock. best, gil" View quoted note →

"hey gil, so sorry to hear you are compromised. no, sorry, i dont have her contact. would you at least be able to clarify that this reads as a fascist talking point to you in this current climate?" "hey anne, yea i mean, im sorry, too i know the alyssa milano plan was a longshot. i really dont feel comfortable offering a take here, re: lack of objectivity really pulling teeth can tepidly offer, to me, for what it's worth, and again, that isnt saying much re: compromised: not enthused not engaged not here which doesnt read, to me, as someone earnestly possessed by christofascist ideology. from another point of view tho, anne, if you replied: 'gil. cope harder.' that'd be fair as fuck."

let's be so serious and so deeply for real for a sec: the judgement to question in this fictional exchange is Anne for writing to me on my take when literally one of the first things that happened to me this morning is i saw a sequence of 15 words on twitter in such an order that i burst into tears in a happy way like actual rivers down my cheeks this a.m. and then i drove to the grocery store to get birdseed wondering if love is like treeroots cos even tho there was no way that was meant for me it found me anyway and idk how that works, how something is able to find me and matter so much emotionally when that was not intended as a fact insofar as another can ever verify which is a lot actually the author of those fifteen words? michael curzi View quoted note →
