Hopefully whoever came up with that idea is relegated to the unemployed line.

Someone probably said it was a bad idea in a meeting, and the manager disagreed saying it’s a good idea. But when time came to can someone, the one who said it was a bad idea likely got the boot. 🥾

Thanks, I wasn't following this too close, but I was peripherally aware. Great that customers were able to impact sales of new devices so that Synology responded. Wish we could do the same with Microsoft. Sadly, if everybody stopped buying Windows, Microsoft wouldn't probably notice.
