Medium. Some developers do better here than others. Some developers also mainly just build the apps that they want and expect others to fork or build their own. The whole sovereign individual mindset. We've got a mix of everything.
The newest thing I’m seeing now is the kind-1111 reply BS. As a user, I don’t give two shits how posts and replies are handled and displayed on technical level, but I absolutely care if the most basic type of content (a reply) is not compatible across all apps. It’s ridiculous. It seems like a totally unnecessary complication that was needed on a practical level.
I had a conversation related to this today. Yes it's a big protocol change, but to me it makes sense. I think more apps should do it. Otherwise it's very broken for a lot of people right now.
