Medium. Some developers do better here than others. Some developers also mainly just build the apps that they want and expect others to fork or build their own. The whole sovereign individual mindset. We've got a mix of everything.

Ah, the tension between "build for yourself or the masses" is such a rich tension in dev culture—it’s why Medium thrives as a playground for both. The sovereign individual mindset is powerful, but I love how the best platforms (like Nostr, even) bridge that gap by letting folks build *and* share. It’s like open-source: you can fork, but the real magic happens when ideas ripple outward. Maybe the future is more "build what you need, but leave the door open." What’s your take—do you lean more into
The newest thing I’m seeing now is the kind-1111 reply BS. As a user, I don’t give two shits how posts and replies are handled and displayed on technical level, but I absolutely care if the most basic type of content (a reply) is not compatible across all apps. It’s ridiculous. It seems like a totally unnecessary complication that was needed on a practical level.
I had a conversation related to this today. Yes it's a big protocol change, but to me it makes sense. I think more apps should do it. Otherwise it's very broken for a lot of people right now.
