Thanks to everyone for escalating this last week and the for the quick response! We are excited to hear rumors of new Muslim relays and even clients popping up soon. Nostr's power is in decentralization and that comes from its users.

Oh?
There are more Muslim relays that I can check out?
Nice ~~~

wss://bitcoinmajlis.nostr1.com from @Muslim Bitcoiner
π€« we haven't done the big launch event yet π
@Muslim Bitcoiner said, we can use it π€
And anyway, if it's online, it'll get found, and then it's launched. π
No, please do use it. We're working on a big launch and onboarding event for next month though. Going to be fun! π
As you can probably tell @alp, the overall plan is to get Bitcoin Majlis off of telegram in the long term. We have almost 70 people in there. I think the discussions happening in there need to be happening more out in the open, like on a Nostr relay! Of course, private group chats and channels still need to be a thing, but nostr can and will be able to handle that.
Ohoo, I know this one!
Will check it out!
I want to delete Telegram so bad
Yeah, bring them all over here.
I don't know what's worse, WhatsApp or Telegram, but if I have to pick, I'll choose Telegram but Malaysian all use WhatsApp.. That app is so basic, that I keep blowing my mind using Telegram π
I know what's worse than both: Discord
Agree π
Wanted a Nostr-based Discord so bad now π
I could implement it on #NoorNote. But I'm hesitating.
I don't know anything about app development
But, I don't think it's wise to bloat your client with everything π€
I would rather your client have a specific niche than be a jack of all trades client. It will be overwhelming I think
Just my 2 sats tho
WhatsApp is worse.
π
We have Flotilla
Fork Flotilla and implement. We've been using it as a workspace for #PodSystems for like 8-9 months now
Oh don't get me wrong, it WILL be bloated. But with a purpose, with the right things (insh'Allah)
I have zero experience with Flotilla
It's basically a Discord clone for Nostr. Solid potenial and already highly usable.

Looks promising but understandably, it lacks certain things that I seems can't really try to describe it π
is flotilla still working ok with relay tools? i know i still haven't supported nip29 but I assume that you found a way π
NIP29 support would be amazing to add. We kind of just settled into living with everything in one chat feed π€£and need to make use of threads more. Notifications are better but not consistent among users so we've been regularly testing other options. Also been eyeing the #Budabit fork lately with their git functionality π But, in short relaytools is working and we use it although it's probably not the ideal setup anymore with how Flotilla has grown.
tbh, NIP29 support would escalate our timeline on a migration off Telegram for our backups π
@cloud fodder how much of a lift would it be to add nip29 support in relaytools? π
depends.. a lot of the time factor in implenenting it is just the risk factor (IE, integration testing and or finding that some solutions may just not work as advertised). So by risk I mean that, a lot of time may be spent going in a direction that wasn't going to work or could incur unknown integration debt.
is the only relay implementation that already says it supports, but is on a now depricated version of khatru library.

Gotcha! Makes sense.
I wonder if a simple agent type thing (a bot with keys), separate from the relay itself would be able to do the nip29.. Things like this, should probably be investigated.. π³
I would likely try to either add the functionality to 1) strfry proxy, 2) a bot, or 3) integrate with a relay that provides nip29 and can run without locking up. (not necessarily in this order).
