The reason you see bits in the bitcoin-core gui is my fault, it was the first PR I ever did to bitcoin in 2017. I was quite the bits maxi back in the day. Its still a great system to think in if you still like to compare to fiat. When 1 btc = 1 million fiat, then 1 bit is $1, and 1 sat is 1 cent. These days i increasingly find myself thinking in sats and msats for accounting, but i still like bits. image

I think in Sats too. Took 3 years of being in Bitcoin and the switch was subconscious. Sat is the standard!!

Well, Satoshi wanted to call them apples and mellons or something, so I guess it could have been worse.
whole bits vs sats fight is pointless, bitcoin will never be constant in value when measured in fiat, give the user an option to show it their prefered way and that should be enough the only constant is 1 btc = 1000 mbtc = 1000000 bits = 100000000 sats
Bits makes more sense and easier to explain to new people. Is there any reason why Adam is suddenly pushing this again though? I saw some chatter about it last year, died down and now popping back up again.
When the USD price of BTC reaches those figures, it will make sense and people will (re)adopt it, I'm sure.

I prefer skreeps honestly 50k sat = 1 skreep. Simple right? 🤠
